Football is the most popular sport in the world, with more than 3.5 billion fans tuning in to watch the World Cup every four years. With an estimated 250 million players, soccer is a team sport with the largest number of participants in the world. Cricket is the second most popular sport, with more than 2.5 billion fans around the world. Basketball, invented by American-Canadian teacher James Naismith, has grown in popularity and now has an estimated 825 million fans.

Table tennis is also a popular sport, with 875 million fans worldwide. Other popular sports include golf, rugby, badminton, hockey, and volleyball. Football is a centuries-old sport with a rich history and more than half of the world's population tunes in to watch the World Cup. England, India, Pakistan and Australia are some of the countries where gambling on cricket is most popular.

Basketball is a trendy sport that has grown in recent times and has fans all over the world. The United States, Canada, Japan and China make up the majority of those who follow this sport. Hockey has few followers on social media but it has a significant audience dedicated to streaming that listens to it regularly. The Australian Football League (AFL) Grand Final has the highest attendance of all club championships in the world. The appeal of sports is universal regardless of whether those countries are rich or poor or located in the Arctic or Caribbean. Football remains at the top of list as one of the most popular sports in the world.
